Let’s face it, every kid is going to throw a tantrum at some point, and it will undoubtedly be somewhere embarrassing. Whether it’s the first time it has ever happened, or the one-hundred-and-twelfth, it results in parents wanting to A) hot foot it to Mexico, solo, B) run and hide but take your kid with you, or C) pretend it isn’t happening. Here are the Top 7 Most embarrassing places for your child to have a meltdown:
- Church, or anywhere else that is supposed to be a quiet spot.
- The library, excluding children’s hour. Apparently, they like silence in there.
- The grocery store- Aka The Place Where Moms Endure The Cashier’s Raised Eyebrow and Unspoken Thought: ‘Why Did You Give Her That Candybar If She Won’t Stop Screaming Like That?’
- Restaurants. Even if it has a drive-thru, it is still embarrassing when it is your kid. This is often compounded by the ‘I’m going to bounce up and down on the seat and poke my neighbor’ maneuver.
- Your parents’ or in-laws’ house. Predictably, this usually happens either right after they tell you they are sooo proud of you for being a good parent, or sooo disappointed in you because you are not.
- Work. I don’t even need to explain this one. It’s a wonder we all haven’t been fired.
- Airplanes- You’ve made it past the TSA probes only to discover that the people sitting next to your screaming bundle of joy are childless, or are now seriously considering remaining that way.
