Thanks for sharing, Tiffany. I've been thinking about how I was raised as a boy, compared with how I will raise my son (4 months right now). After working with college student for a few years, I'm beginning to see trends in what men need vs. women, and how a lack of those things affect how they interact with the world around them. Pretty interesting stuff! Keep writing!

My boy is the 'typical' boy: hyper, dirty, rough. Hubby and I are praying for a girl but also wonder what we'd do if the girl will turn out as rough as him, or more. :)

I try not to conform much to the usual gendering process. I don't buy my son dolls but I let him play with some. I read him books with Ariel on it, or the Care Bears, and he knows who Amelia Bedelia is, focusing more on the stories rather than if it's a boy book or not. :)

My mom always told me she wanted a girl, and that she's glad to have me, because it's much more difficult to raise a boy. From where I stand, I think it's exactly the opposite, you have to take care more of a daughter, to keep her safe. Boys can manage on their own better, at least when they're kids.
