This week’s Parenting Tip of the Week comes from Better Parenting reader Nora Fay.
Tip: Always keep a good book in your car.
No matter the age of your children, you’ll find a benefit to having a good book with you at all times:
Babies – If your baby falls asleep in the car and you don’t want to disrupt her sleep, you’ll have something to occupy your time.
Young Children – Ever get frustrated from the “he hit me” and “stop pinching me” wars that sometimes occur in the back seat of your car? Having something to do in the car gives you the power to pull over and wait until your children behave before getting back on the road.
Older Kids – Before they’re old enough to drive, you’ll find yourself chauffering your children around between games and activities. When practice runs long or you find yourself arriving at an event too early, you’ll be thankful that you don’t have to fill the time with boredom.

I remember when my youngest sister was just a baby. I would sit her in my lap and read, “The Little Princess.” She was only a toddler I’m surprised she even sat through it.
