In this post, I decided to do a quick review of Eben Pagan’s progam called, Self Mad wealth.
Why would a parenting website review a product like Self Made Wealth?
Because when I look around at how our society teaches it’s children to handle money… I am DISGUSTED! The laws of money are NOT complicated to learn and ingrain into our children, and we fail to give our children any training into what is arguably the single largest issue that will play a role in their day-to-day lives.
We like to pretend we’re not materialistic, and that we value love, family and relationship more than money, yet we teach our children to pay for things they can’t afford with debt. We show our children by example that the way to buy cars is through financing, the way to buy houses in through financing, the way to pay for college is through financing. Never mind the concept of saving until you can afford something.
What kind of lesson does a child learn when he sees his parents not have enough money for college education and take out a loan instead?
I don’t know about you, but when my parents took out financing to pay for my college I couldn’t help but wonder why they weren’t smart enough to save a couple dollars a month over the course of the first 18 years of my life. Had they not heard of compound interest and how easily it would have been to NOT have to finance my education?
That’s why I wanted to review Eben Pagan’s, Self Made Wealth Program in today’s video, because I think it’s a great resource for teaching children about money concepts. To be fair, it was not a program designed for parents. It was a program designed for entrepreneurs, and therefore it is NOT cheap. But if you have the resources, I think it would be a fantastic thing to have a young teenage child listen to, discuss and master before you send them out to face the world alone.
One caveat I would say, is that this program is probably not going to be be a good program for children who are not yet making their own money. There are other programs better suited for teaching younger children about money. Programs like Rich Dad Poor Dad’s Cashflow game, or the Rich Dad Poor Dad book series. But I would think this is a perfect program for teenagers that could quite possibly change their financial future.
Self Made Wealth is currently sold out, but I would highly suggest getting on their waiting list to be notified when any additional copies are released.
